Thrive on Live

Welcome to Thrive on LIVE! For several years, my wife and I have been teaching our kids about live versus dead food, and the difference it makes on our bodies. For example, we encourage them to eat healthy live and fresh foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains, rather than dead foods that are packaged and processed with added chemicals and preservatives.

When my kids get home from school they are hungry … and I mean HUNGRY! If my wife and I don’t have snacks readily available, they certainly let us know! The other day, we’d had a very full day, so didn’t have snacks available and ready after school.  Our nine year old hung up his backpack, and while my wife was helping the younger two get their things organized, he perused the kitchen.  Unable to find anything to eat, he yelled, “Do we have any healthy DEAD food around here?”  We got quite a laugh out of that, but think about it … our actions often reflect those words!

My hope is that I can provide many healthy LIVE and fresh food choices that can be ready in five minutes or less.  You’ll find recipes listed here as well as short video demonstrations from time to time. Enjoy!
