Make your berries last longer!

Posted by on Oct 30, 2012 in Uncategorized |

Don’t just rinse  in water. Instead let them sit in a solution of 10 parts water to 1 part Vinegar (for 2 cups water use  1/8 cup of vinegar) for about 30-45 seconds, then strain. The vinegar will kill the mold spores as well as keep your fruit fresher for longer. You can use this solution for any of your fruits and vegetables, and don’t worry, you won’t taste the vinegar!

Embarrassing Love

Posted by on Oct 26, 2012 in Blog |

Today, I was privileged drop my children off at school. As I was pulling way I yelled out the window, “I Love You!” and no reply. I yelled again, “I Love You!” Then my youngest turned at the car and said with a huge smile on his face, “I Love You Daddy!” As I smiled and looked away I saw a lady laughing, I assume from the sweetness from my youngest, I looked at her and said, “I guess I better soak that up, because it will not be too long before he will be embarrassed to  yell ‘I Love You’ in front of his friends.” Driving home I was reflecting on my past when I was embarrassed to hug or say “I Love You” to my parents in front of my friends. It was not too long before I realized why wouldn’t I say that to them. Why would I ever miss an opportunity to share that affection with the ones I Love, as we never know when it may be our last chance. This made me think about King David when he was bringing the ark of the Lord to the City of David. It is written in 2 Samuel 6:14-15, “14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, 15 while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.” Now seriously “dancing… with all his might”? This is the very same guy that killed the big dude with a slingshot, dancing in the streets uninhibited!!! Last time I did that I was nicknamed “Boogaloo Bentley”. The images running through my head of David doing this are entertaining to say the least. Here is my point. When was the last time we praised our Father in Heaven openly, spontaneously, unreserved, etc… How many times do we act embarrassed about our love we confess we have for our Lord and Savior? Perhaps we can learn from David’s dance skills to inspire us to live a life of love for our Savior where we are commanded to, “”Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself'” (Luke 10:27). Lets openly share Christ love with the world. Have a Blessed...

Faith- a complete circuit

Posted by on Oct 26, 2012 in Moving on Prompting |

In order for there to be movement on behalf of God, we must complete our faith. How do we do that? Here’s a little story for you… Right now my son is in fourth grade. The first science experiment fourth graders do is circuits. So this got me thinking. A complete circuit is kind of like our faith. You know how a circuit works, when its closed or connected, the light goes on, yay! However when it is left open or there is a “disconnect” there will be no light. I think this is a fitting way to look at faith. If we have faith in one part of our circuit (God) and actions (the way we live) in another, but refrain from connecting the two, our circuit is incomplete and the light will not shine, but when we take our faith and connect it with our actions our circuits will be complete, and yep you guessed it HIS light will shine through us! Lets put our faith into action and shine for God today! “You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.” (James...
